Turning away clients

"Someone ran a stop sign and crashed into my car!"

Ten words you genuinely hope never to hear your sobbing wife say.

The good news: she's now fine.

In other news: the same cannot be said for her 2013 Toyota RAV4, as it was totaled.

Trust me when I say that shopping for a replacement is not on the list of Top 1000 Things I'd like to spend time on.

Particularly when supply chain and chip issues have reduced inventories, particularly on the models she's likely to consider buying.

Consider this from a Honda dealership GM, "We used to carry 200 new Hondas on the ground, selling 100 to 120.

We currently have 19 new Honda's on the ground and will probably sell 40 to 50 this month."

While trying to work a deal with a Toyota salesman, I asked how long he had been selling cars.

"Two and half years", he said. "I've never had to turn away so many customers."

Turned away because he has so few cars to sell.

So, this Sunday is all about gratitude.

For the fact that there is an limitless inventory of the products we sell.

And we never have to turn clients away.

Another item for the list of Reasons Why Wholesaling is the Greatest Job on Earth.

If you read just one per day, you'll be done (and a better wholesaler) on September 12th - just in time to crush the prime Fall selling season.
