To Imitate or Emulate?

Staggering.

That only begins to describe the amount of content created and consumed online every day.

For example: 

There are 306.4 billion emails sent every day.

Facebook users create 3.2 billion likes and comments every day.

Almost 5 billion videos are watched on YouTube every single day.

As we are all awash in others' ideas, thoughts, concepts and opinions, it can be harder and harder to be original.

So, some "adapt" that sales idea they heard.

Others "borrow" an insight in an attempt to make it their own.

And some flagrantly take from others and label it as their own. 

You've heard of this:

"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery." ~ Charles Caleb Colton

But I prefer this:

"I'm into emulation, not imitation." ~ Chuck Inglish

Because of this:

"No man was ever great by imitation." ~Samuel Johnson
