Always Pack Your Rubbers?

Born in NY.

Raised in Miami.

41 years in California.

Let’s just say that I’m not a huge fan of the elements.

Or, said another way, I’m a weather wimp.

So it stands to reason that on a mid-winter visit to ride along with my Upstate NY wholesaler, I packed my rubbers.

Oh, you may call them “overshoes”, but I just wanted to keep my $600 Ferragamo’s dry and free of road salt.

What a mistake.

I would have been better off wearing full-fledged snow boots with my suit – because I took a serious dose of pain from my wholesaler.

It was a not so subtle combination of in-your-face East Coast harassment and thinly veiled sarcasm.

In fact, I still take crap from him to this day – some 20 years later.

Are you thinking about a future in management?

It's a humbling experience my friend.
