No More Lumps of Coal

Boy, was I wet behind the ears.
My first holiday working as a wholesaler for a NY firm was a real eye opener.
Maybe it was the lavish party at the Vista Hotel at the World Trade Center.
Or the general spirit of the holidays that pervades Manhattan.
But I'm thinking it was the new found phenomenon called The Holiday Bonus Check.
"What did your last firm offer for a holiday bonus", asked my new boss.
"A supermarket gift certificate for a turkey", I replied.
She laughed.
And laughed.
And she's laughing as she reads this today.
When the check came, I knew I had made the right career decision.
A decision that has been fiscally validated in every year since that first bonus.
We have much to be grateful for in our business.
