Your Failure Resume

Fired from my first real job.
It's a story that will make you laugh, made me cry, and one that's on my Failure Resume.
It sits on the Failure Resume alongside these greatest hits:
Leaving the warm womb of my long-tenured first sales job to chase the promise of faster, bigger money.
A gig that lasted fewer than 60 days.
Flopping my first divisional manager job interview.
Wishing I could somehow re-answer most (all?) of the interviewer's questions.
Finally scoring the first paid speaking engagement of my entrepreneurial life.
Only to be embarrassed by the audience reviews.
The list goes on.
To catalog, but not dwell on, our failures serves as a useful reminder.
That as successful as we are, we are all fallible.
And, hopefully, self-aware enough to learn lessons from our mistakes.
