And from the first day on the first job I wanted more.
Next job up the ladder paid more?
I applied.
Different sector of financial services paid more?
I switched sectors.
Distribution pays better than retail?
I'm moving to distribution.
Firm B pays better basis points than Firm A.
I'll take the leap.
Until one day, the insatiable urge to make more intersects with the realization that, at some point, our happiness stays stationary, despite our best efforts to advance it through, in this example, money.
Welcome to The Hedonic Treadmill.
