Double-check your input

The CEO took the stage. 

He spoke about the investments the firm had made in technology, product design, and headcount. 

He told the assembled wholesalers and leaders that his senior leadership team would be in attendance for the entirety of the event. 

He encouraged everyone to engage, ask questions, and stretch beyond their normal conference comfort zone. 

As I listened to his opening remarks I thought about you. 

You and your daily/weekly input versus your output. 

Day after day, week after week, you myopically focus on output. 

Number of outbound calls, emails, appointments set, advisors seen, and dollars raised are all a part of your output.  

Equally important as that output is, it can’t/won’t happen without heavy, ongoing doses of high quality input. 

Take time out to double check your input. 

Commit to a larger, more diverse array of news, information, education, and interaction.

Set up systems and technology that allow for friction-free delivery of that information. 

Because high quality input equals more compelling output.
