Poop Loop Lessons

Every. Morning.
That's Higgins' schedule.
A 2-3 mile early morning constitution that cannot, will not, be missed.
That means one of his humans will be deftly juggling leash and filled poop bags while keeping a keen eye out for the nearest trash bin.
So, when I see Poop Loop come up in an Instagram story (HT Galey Alex, who received a handwritten note and sample from Charlie, the college freshman creator) I'm hooked.
Sadly, my smug Poop Loop swagger was short-lived, as after only two days an apparent malfunction caused the product to falloff the leash and go missing.
Not one to take a $12.00 product failure lightly (it's a disease), I emailed Charlie to explain the mishap.
A short few hours later he responded with a mea culpa and a promise to ship out a replacement asap.
What on earth does this have to do with what you and I do?
Plenty.
1. Know your target (aka Advisor Recon) to break though the clutter.
Galey has +4 million social followers and she's pitched products and partnerships all day, every day.
Charlie understood that her two dogs are everything to her - and she scoops like he scoops.
2. Take a non-traditional approach.
Charlie decided to take the handwritten note route versus DM or email.
He wrote a simple, short message that conveyed what he invented, why he invented it and why he thought she'd like it.
3. Offer simply superior service.
If your customer expresses concern, respond immediately, offer the appropriate explanation/apology and make an attempt to remedy the issue.
In this case I didn't ask for a replacement but he offered one - and then sent TWO!
I'm a sucker for entrepreneurs/wholesalers using timeless tools and best practices to grow their business.
