We got up well before the crack of dawn.
Sixty minutes later we arrived at the Azusa Swap Meet.
It was here that my former boss, circa 1982, had the brilliant side-hustle idea that we could create a fortune by buying Atari video games at wholesale and selling at retail.
Our booth was a card table, two chairs, and a stack of game cartridges.
Once the prospect approached, the goal was to get them to physically take the game cartridge box from our hands to inspect it - theory being, according to my boss, that once the customer commits to holding the merchandise, they'll be irresistibly drawn to buy it.
It was, so he said, The Puppy Dog close.
If only it were that easy...
Fast forward to our current, pandemic induced, wholesaling world, and you'd not be alone if you said that closing business was on your list of things that have become infinitely more difficult.
